How and when will summer financial aid be awarded?

  • Colorado State University will automatically award financial aid to eligible students who are enrolled for summer classes beginning in mid-April. No additional financial aid application will be required. You can check on the status of your summer financial aid by logging into RAMwebCollege Orange Stitched 33 Buckeyes 2014 Red Patch Discover Bowl Jersey and selecting “Summer Financial Aid Information” on your Financial Aid page.
  • If you have already completed the FAFSA for this academic year you do not need to submit another one.
  • If you did not apply for financial aid for this academic year, you must submit a 2018-19 FAFSA for the Summer 2019 term by June 30, 2019.

  • You must meet the general financial aid eligibility criteria to receive summer financial aid.
  • Gray Ezekiel Alternate Jersey Stitched Legend Elliott 15 College Buckeyes Summer aid eligibility is determined by the number of credits in which you are enrolled.
  • Gray Ezekiel Alternate Jersey Stitched Legend Elliott 15 College Buckeyes Summer aid consists of Federal Direct Loans for undergraduates and graduates and Federal Pell Grant for undergraduates.
  • If you exhausted your Federal Direct Loan eligibility during the academic school year, you will not be able to receive any federal loans during the summer.
  • If you are eligible to receive financial aid for Summer 2019, you will receive an e-mail directing you to RAMweb to review your summer award and accept your Federal Direct Loan if you have been offered one.
  • In some cases you may be eligible to apply for a Private Student Loan.

Summer Aid Disbursement

  • The earliest we can disburse your summer financial aid is 10 days prior to the first day of the first summer session you attend, provided you meet all the disbursement and eligibility criteria.
  • Tuition assessment deadlines can be found on the Summer Session website.

Summer Enrollment Changes

Adjusting the number of credits in which you are enrolled can impact the amount of your financial aid award. Contact the Office of Financial Aid if you:

  • Plan on dropping or withdrawing from a summer course(s)
  • Add a course after you’ve been awarded summer aid to be reviewed for additional aid eligibility

Summer Scholarship Exceptions

Scholarships may or may not be applied to Summer Session based on the specific scholarship details. In instances when a scholarship is awarded by an outside agency (this does not apply to institutional awards) students may make a request to their scholarship provider to apply the scholarship to summer.

  • If summer is not listed as a term in which the scholarship can be applied, and/or
  • The scholarship requires full-time (12 credits) enrollment however this is not realistic for, or needed by, the student in the summer term, and
  • A student, along with the student’s Advisor or Academic Support Coordinator, agree that summer enrollment is important for the student’s academic progression and graduation goals, then
  • Students may request an exception to apply their scholarship in summer using the Summer Scholarship Exception Request Form for outside agency.
  • The decision will be made solely by the outside scholarship provider/agency. This form is intended to assist students with the request process and does not guarantee scholarships may be applied.

Additional fees apply. For enrollment greater than 3 credits of online and/or campus courses, the nonresident base tuition rate will apply.

CSU nonresident degree-seeking students:

For summer nonresident degree-seeking CSU students enrolled through the main campus will receive a tuition reduction for the first 3 credits of online courses:

  • CSU undergraduate students will pay $525 per credit on the first 3 online credits (401, 40X sections);
  • CSU graduate students will pay $625 per credit on the first 3 online credits. (401, 40X sections).
  • The tuition reduction does not apply to INTO students.
  • Students receiving other discounts should contact us to discuss their eligibility for the nonresident tuition reduction.
  • Gray Ezekiel Alternate Jersey Stitched Legend Elliott 15 College Buckeyes Combined tuition reductions cannot fall below $525 per credit for nonresident undergraduates or $625 per credit for nonresident graduates.

Summer-Only Nonresident Students:

Nonresident summer-only students who are not seeking a degree will pay the reduced tuition rate as described above on the first 3 online credits if:

  • They are also taking on-campus credits, and
  • No other discount applies (INTO students, for instance). Students receiving other student discounts should contact us to discuss their eligibility for the nonresident program award.
